The Wasteland

Respected Sir,

1. Eliot and Nietzsche’s views are different, so we can say that- Eliot is regressive as compared to Nietzsche’s views. For proved his views, Eliot has used myths because myths represents desire, dream and myths are also from past. When Nietzsche’s concept about superman is about individual life, it means to make individuals and powerful free life.

2. The concept of Eliot and Freud, both are important. But Freud’s views are objective and Eliot’s views are philosophical.  So, both are opposite from each other. The poem ‘Wasteland’ depends on sexual perversion and spiritual degradation.

3. In the poem ‘Wasteland’ Eliot used Indian myths from different religions and in the 5^th part “The Thunder Said”- we can see the Indian thoughts. Like, Da, Dayadhvam and Damayata which means, Da = Giver, Dayadhvam = sympathize, and Damayata = control.
