Movie review - Midnight's Children

Respected Sir,
The movie “Midnight’s Children” is directed by Deepa Mehta which is based on the famous novel by Salman Rushdie which is written in 1981.
This novel is considered as an example of postcolonial literature. In this novel, character of “Saleem” represents as an author himself. In this movie, we can see the journey of two individuals and their live and also we can find tragedy, romance and comedy through this movie. The movie becomes controversial because of post colonialism between two nations and we can see in this film also. In this movie, Deepa Mehta used Salman Rushdie’s narrative style – “Magic Realism”. Magic realism is a postcolonial device and Salman Rushdie composed literary theory very well in his writing through his magic realism.

Thank you.
